Care for your layer

Hand wash or machine wash on a gentle/wool cycle in cold water (50-68°F). Use a mild wool-safe or pH-neutral detergent. Wash with similar colors. Don't bleach or use fabric softener.

Reshape while damp and lay flat to dry. Don't tumble dry, twist, or wring. Cool iron if needed. Store folded in a cool, dry space with airflow; avoid hanging.

Naturally dyed colors can transfer with sweat or friction. Wear them with dark clothing or equipment, wash sparingly, and avoid citric acid, which can lighten the color.

Shipping & Returns

US orders over $200 ship free. Estimated US delivery is 7 to 10 business days, including preparation and transit. You'll receive a tracking number by email once your order ships. Eligible unused, unwashed items may be returned within 15 days of delivery. What counts is that you start your request within those 15 days; how long the package then takes to reach us does not affect your refund. Original packaging isn't required. A $5 domestic return shipping fee applies unless Free Returns was purchased at checkout. International return shipping is paid by the customer, except for wrong or defective items under the policy.

The benefits

Why Alpaca wins

Alpacas en los Andes peruanos

Andes-adapted for changing temperatures

Alpacas evolved where days run warm and nights turn cold. Their semi-hollow fibers trap insulating air, helping you stay comfortable as the temperature changes.

Softness starts in the fiber

Alpaca’s smoother scales give the fabric a soft feel against your skin. Comfort comes from the fiber’s structure.

Wear more, wash less

Alpaca wool naturally resists odor. Air your layer between wears, then wash it when it needs cleaning. Less time doing laundry. More time outside.

Single origin

Peru, start to finish.

Arms of Andes is a family company with roots in the Peruvian Andes. “Arms” brings together the initials of four siblings. That connection to Peru shapes what we make and where we make it.

From fiber sourcing and yarn spinning to knitting and sewing, production stays in Peru. One country, with the people and knowledge behind your gear close together.

useless - Cotton Parade Gloves Work Better

Sadly, this was a waste of money. The gloves are extremely thin and as a liner did not help at all.

160 liner gloves

Was looking for very thin liners , older outer gloves not as warm as they used to be . Not much room for the liners I found locally (too thick) . These worked great , just right . There are thin ! Only used them a couple of times so far . Will see how they hold up

Disappointing tear in glove

Ultralight 160 alpaca glove developed a tear in the alpaca in about 5 wearings—never washed or used for physical activity—just driving for errands etc.
The material is, as you would expect for 160 grams, quite thin—however that alone would not justify the material coming apart after less than a half dozen wearings.
I only purchased the ultralight liners because the heavier glove liners were out of stock.
I have a lot of alpaca items, that I love, which have stood up well, which makes this all the more disappointing. I am considering taking a chance on trying the 200 g when they are back in stock to see if they are better constructed…
I did like that the 160s fit under my wool gloves easily, and functioned well in providing warmth.

Glove liners

Excellent fit as ski glove liners. Thin so they do not make the gloves bulky and warm enough to keep my hands from getting cold

Great if you can get them.

The gloves seem to be just what I wanted, but I haven't had them in the really cold yet.

The main problem is actually getting them. It took ages to receive them. They were preordered, but they missed Thanksgiving - which we spend in the snow in Oregon.

It missed Christmas, which was the back up plan. After several inquiries, they finally arrived in early January - which is when I started my quest to receive the Ultra 300 glove liners I had ordered a week after the first pair.

Sadly, I was told the 300's were not available and that I could have a refund. I did receive the refund in a timely manner, but I really wanted the 300's. They are still advertised on the website, but I was told they aren't available

I love to support small businesses, but I am wary of their supply chain.

Ok

I ordered two pair and they came in a reasonable timeframe. The fabric seems a little light and one has a hole in the thumb already. Looks like a flaw in the fabric. They are ok but way too "cheap" for the price. I'll look elsewhere next time.

Hi Scott,

Thanks for your honest feedback. We’re sorry to hear that one of your pairs had a flaw in the fabric—this isn’t the experience we want for our customers. Our alpaca wool products are designed to be lightweight yet warm, but we understand that expectations can vary. We appreciate you giving us a try and value your input as we continue improving our products! For best durability, we recommend gentle use and proper care, as outlined on our website.

Wonderful glove liners!

These seem durable and are a wonderful light weight. I can wear them in mild spring weather bicycling or inside mittens for extra warmth when winter hiking.

Hi Myra,

Thanks for sharing your experience! We're so happy to hear that you’re enjoying the glove liners. Their lightweight yet durable design makes them a great companion for both spring cycling and winter hikes. It’s great to know they’re keeping your hands warm and comfortable in different conditions. Wishing you many more cozy adventures ahead!

Disappointed warm but cheaply made

First off i would like to say as far as warmth these cloves were great. I work in a chicken factory flipping chicken breast to send them through a skinner. My hands were so cold until i got these. The problem is a week in the finger tips are already breaking down and holes are forming getting bigger every day. So sad, because im not sure what to get next. Very sad that they fell apart so quickly.

Great but…

These are wonderful glove liners. Soft and keep your hands warm, made with quality materials. However, my one problem is that the fingers are very long. I got a pair for my husband and myself and they both are too long in the fingers. So if you have smaller hands these might be too big.

Hi Jacquelyn, Thank you so much for your feedback! We're thrilled to hear you’re enjoying the warmth and quality of the glove liners. We totally understand your concern about the finger length, and we'll keep that in mind as we refine our designs. We really appreciate your support!
