Alpaca wool does not need to be washed because of it's an anti-bacterial component called Keratin. Instead of washing, air out your gear and you help save the planet.
IF you feel your gear needs a wash:
• Hand wash with cool water and light, mild soap. (Do not use softener, bleach, or any chemicals)
• Lay to dry (do not hang).
• Do not dry clean.
• Do not iron.
There are no plastics in our gear because we do not need it. Our ancestors used these sustainable fibers to protect themselves from the harsh climates. And thanks to alpaca wool, we are able to create gear from only Royal Alpaca Wool. Be apart of nature and leave the plastic behind.
ALPACAS WITHOUT BORDERS
Alpacas are not surrounded by borders or fences. They live freely and happily in the high lands of Peru where nature intended it. Their farmers never harm or kill them for their wool. They shear them 1 to 2 times a year and are never sheared until naked. The alpaca farmers use old techniques brought by generations and cut the alpaca's wool with appropriate scissors.
MADE IN PERU
Everything is made in Peru. We do not outsource to other countries so we reduce our carbon footprint. And most importantly, we believe in control of our quality and traceability.

Alpaca is softer, lighter, stronger, and warmer per micron than Merino and Cashmere. It's shorter and less frequent scales allow for a softer feel while whisking away moisture from the skin. The fibers have microscopic pockets that keep the fabric light while retaining more heat than wool. Alpaca is naturally odor resistant and contains no lanolin.
