Men's Alpaca Wool Hoodie Half-Zip

Wonderful garment! Keeps me good and warm and is very well made. Soft, not scratchy, and easily as warm as wool.

I absolutely love this quarter zip hoodie. It is my new favorite. Well-made, super soft and luxuriously draped. My only critique for improvement: I wish the thumb holes were more in line with the thumb anatomy, I find they are a bit too posterior, and so when I use them, I have to twist the sleeves just a small bit. That detail aside, the quality, fit and finish are very high end and feel cozy and amazing. Highly recommended!

Warm nice fit. Would reorder

I wore this hoodie on and off while hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park. Fit perfectly (used their sizing chart) kept me warm on cool mornings and didn’t get too hot into the early afternoon. Really comfortable. I would have given it 5 stars but when it got a little wet it had a smell I couldn’t get past. Similar to a wet dog or alpaca.

I didn’t wash it before wearing it but when I returned home I washed it and as soon as it got wet the odor was there even after washing and drying the odor comes back when it gets wet even from clean tap water. Maybe after it’s been washed a few times. Maybe odor resistant to picking up odors but it’s own odor isn’t great!

I love this hoodie. It's thin, but warm enough for my needs. Looks great, very comfortable, feels like quality construction. It fits me perfectly, with a snug or 'tailored' fit that I like. Sizing guide is about right I reckon. I'm 6 foot 1, 182 pounds, 43 inch chest, 36 inch waist, 34 inch arms, and I got a Large.

The halve zipped hoodie is really nice looking and is a great weight. As it is Julie won’t be worn anytime soon so we’ll need to get some fall weather for a better review 😎👍

This alpaca hoodie is quite warm for its weight and very comfortable. It looks professional but feels relaxed. Overall and excellent hoodie.

For something that weighs 15.1oz 429g it is not very warm. I typically hike shirt sleeves into the mid 40F range, 7-8C, and as I type this in my living room wearing the 1/4zip hoodie over my Icebreaker merino Tshirt, my arms are cool running to cold and torso feels cool. I have been alternating with my lighter weight Appalachian Mountain Gear sun hoodie, 9.2oz 262g,which is significantly warmer,and also alpaca. Even my long sleeve hiking shirt is warmer. Cheap Walmart fleece is warmer and lighter.
The 1/4 zip also really needs a zipper garage.
All of the above makes the rating a 1.5. Now for the good stuff.
Fabric is comfortable. Style is great. Thumb hole and sleeve length spot on. The ever popular "no stink" of wool. Less moisture absorption than merino and quicker drying. It's just not warm enough for the weight. I have summer weight merino that's warmer.
Tl;dr no warmth for such a heavy hoodie.
I wish I could return it, but I've worn it and couldn't do that in good conscience.

Excellent quality, fits great, warm but not clammy. I have worn in direct rain but under my Goretex. It kept me me dry. Used on a rainy bike ride and I did not overheat.

Everything about the garmet is great except that the hood is loose and floppy. It should hug your head to stay in place for cold protection.

I’m told that I’m wearing my new hoodie too much. Stop judging me…I just love it!!

The product was lost/stolen in route to my house the company worked to get it replaced very effectively. The fabric is very soft and high quality. The sizes are american and true to size I expected peruvian size which runs small and bought a size to big. Finally I hope they make a heavy duty coat in the future 500g.

The hoodie is wonderful addition to my backpacking needs. It’s a perfect fit and weight. It is my go to hoodie. Thank you Arms of Andes!

Is overall very light weight. Cool for Summer and warm for Fall, even some winter temps!

This is a very well-crafted base layer hoodie that fits perfectly and is very comfortable. I'm glad I did my research and purchased this particular one.

I did a lot of searching for my perfect mid layer. Comfy, thumb holes, hood, zipped, and this checked all the boxes.
What I wasn’t expecting was how comfy & WARM it is. I’ve taken it out on trips in the teens (*F) and find myself overheating.
Lining forward to taking this as my go to layer on all future backpacking trips.

I sometimes like a hoodie without pockets, zippers and one that is bulky. I also understand the benefits of wool and its performance. The men's Alpaca Wool Hoodie fit me perfect and is super soft and light weight. I look the hood design along with the quarter zip for ventilation. I really notice the difference compared to Merino wool in the warmth and climate control department. Just a great all around piece of gear.

Very comfortable & nice, and I’ve used it a few times already. Had to ding a star since there seems to be low supply and selection in my size - most colors not available, etc.

I bought this hoodie because of the good reviews and the fact that all the material and labor stays in Peru. Traveled to Peru in 96 and saw how the global market was destroying a people's way of life. I'm glad I am still able to contribute to a distinct and noble people who resist global hegemony.

Outstanding keeps you warm but you don’t over heat while working

I was looking for something that was biodegradable, small scale and yet high quality. This checked all the boxes. I'm 6'1 155lbs. with really long arms. it's hard to find things that fit my long body and arms but are skinny enough for me too. The shirt is a great fit. I love the royal blue and the wool is not itchy at all. Great product overall.
