Emailed arms of Andes 1 week after order to let them know I washed with woolite on gentle was and it was torn after 1 wash expecting a refund , no response so leaving a review to warn everyone else not to buy this

I’ve been upgrading my wardrobe especially as I travel a lot and have been wanting to be more efficient in my packing. So, I’ve been buying various merino and alpaca shirts to use as undershirts. This is a very well made shirt and super lightweight. The issue is that I found it to be MORE scratchy than many of the merino shirts that I’ve tried. I have an Arms of Andes pullover that I love for hiking, but I likely will ve sticking to merino for skin contact items of clothing if this is indicative of how alpaca feels.

These shirts, like everything Arms of Andes are amazing and highly recommended!

I did not think I could love a T shirt so much!! I have purchased many nylon-wool blended T shirts, and I thought they were great ... until I tried this one. The stretch is actually better than nylon, and it is super breathable. I also love the (very slight) itch feeling initially, which goes away quickly, as it reminds me that this product is the real deal: completely 100% alpaca wool. I find myself reaching for it above all my other T shirts.

I had high hopes for this shirt. It’s just too fragile. For me, will not buy again. I do like the color tho

I have tried a wide range of fabrics, including organic cotton, merino wool, hemp, and lyocell, and none have performed as well as alpaca wool. This shirt is exceptionally comfortable, has a clean, flattering fit, and performs far better than expected. I even wore it on a run and sweat heavily. After hanging it to dry, there was no odor at all, which speaks to its natural antibacterial properties. This is an outstanding product, and I plan to purchase additional alpaca wool shirts from them.

I was excited to receive the t-shirt after what I had read. I expected a shirt that was comfortable and warm when I need warm and cool when I need cool. I was not expecting it to be so itchy. Maybe it’s my fair skin, but it felt like an old wool sweater. I was hoping for cashmere and got steel wool.

I initially spoke highly of these shirts, but the one I received had a clear structural flaw in the shoulder seam. Even after I explained that the defect was present before washing, the company essentially acknowledged the issue yet still refused to replace it because the shirt had been washed once. A single wash doesn’t create a crooked seam, and they could easily confirm that by checking measurements, but they chose to fall back on policy instead of basic accountability. What could have been a simple, low-cost replacement turned into a situation that really undermines confidence in the brand.

I ordered three t-shirts about 9 weeks ago. At the time when I ordered the website said everything was in stock. I was later told that one of the items was out of stock and they could not do partial shipments. Anyway, the item did eventually get stocked and the items were shipped. That was 3 weeks ago. I've just had a shipping update to say the items won't arrive for at least another week. All in all it will be 10 weeks from when I ordered the items (which were listed as being in stock at the time of purchase). Not great service.

I'm really disappointed in Arms of Andres. In general alpaca from other brands is one of the softest wool i wear so i ordered 3 T shirts from Arms of Andres. Unfortunately Arms of Andres alpaca is very itchy. It's practically unusable. Unfortunately i gave it a try for few days so because of strict return policy i'm not allowed to return it either. Feeling cheated for buying itchy and unusable T shorts at such high price,

Excellent T shirt

Exactly what I was looking for with breathability and thermal regulating. These are my new favorite T shirts especially during the cooler days.

It's a very nice shir, but I got for my husband who is 6' 4" and over 230 lbs. This shirt is not even close to fitting him. It fits me pretty well but I am allergic to most wool and this is too itchy/reactive for me. I will give it to a good friend of ours who I think will love it.

There was a bit of an itch on my shoulders, but I am quite sensitive to wool. The itch dissipates quickly.
They wear great, and don't smell even after several days of wear. Quite interesting.

Your Tee shirts are exactly what the advertisement claims. They are soft, smell fresh and mostly itch free. After wearing for one day they felt like an old friend. And they remained soft and smelled nice and even more comfortable. I look forward to getting more colors.

I was really excited about this shirt! The first wear was fantastic. Unfortunately, even following washing instructions, during the first wash a whole developed on the stomach of the shirt. It’s small, but is the kind that will expand. It’s like it wore through immediately even though I used a delicate cycle and air dryer it. Disappointing, maybe it would be better to hand wash only.

Waiting 2 weeks and still have not received replacement order..,I product is top-shelf.. I have several of their garments and love them all.

Do not buy this shirt. Even the slightest bit of water, sweat, etc. and this shirt smells SO bad. I had to go back home to change my shirt because of being so embarrassed how I smelled.

You might be like me and think “alpaca wool?! This has got to better than Merino wool!”.

I was wrong. You are wrong. Stick with the merino wool and smart wool.

Very comfortable and looks good!

Well-made, great fit. Very soft and comfortable. A little thicker than I thought it would be, I was hoping I could wear this in the summer but not too sure about that, will wait and see. Was itchy at first but after one wash and wearing it not itchy at all!

This is a great looking and fitting shirt. I use it while ballroom dancing and it helps keep me from getting too overheated.

It took six months to get 3 of the 4 shirts I ordered and I am not sure when the 4th will arrive. The owners are working on updating their operations, so hopefully this won't be your experience in waiting so long to get your order fulfilled.

I'm a big fan of this shirt. I have two of the long sleeve shirts and really enjoy the comfort, moisture management and resistance to odor. The newer short sleeve shirt I just bought is slightly longer than the long sleeve shirts which is an improvement in my opinion.

Fits Perfect and love the material.

There is an itch. Love the color and quality of the garment however it is still on the pricier side. $90 for a t shirt isn’t cheap by any means. There are cheaper options over at aya eco fashion. I got a t shirt from them naturally dyed. A lot cheaper plus softer on the skin. I don’t see alpaca replacing cotton in any time soon.
